94 children were vaccinated in Bocaue, Bulacan and another 84 in Alupaye, Quezon On June 11, 2016, Vice President Dr. Margarita Castro-Zarraga and Lead Intern Sarah Ona traveled to Manila to promote PMA’s first medical mission.
The vaccination campaign was held in partnership with Gawad Kalinga Foundation, University of Massachusetts Medical School and the 100 Children Organization.
Children between 6 months to 17 years received the influenza vaccine. Castro-Zarraga along with Drs. Roberto Caganda and Karina Del Mundo served as global health advisors for the program.
Proceeds from the PMA Spring Gala made the service trip possible.
In addition, local host families in Bulacan and Quezon provided transportation and accomodations to PMA delegates.
